Back in the ’70s was the first collaboration between writer and director Alejandro Jodorowsky and writer and artist Jean “Moebius” Giraud: they created the comic book The Eyes of the Cat.
Skip ahead to 2013 and the comic gained new life with a reissue. Skip ahead again to 2022 and composer Fabio Frizzi has created a soundtrack for The Eyes of the Cat. That’s right, a soundtrack to a comic.
The music is awesome, with a classic, cinematic sound, which Frizzi made with ’70s equipment to give it the feel of being recorded back when the comic first appered.
Fortunately we can sample a couple of the tracks, courtesy of the record label. First, “The Cat”:
And second, “Meduz and the Crime”:
The Eyes of the Cat is out now on vinyl from Cadabra Records.
If you’d like to check out the reissued comic, Humanoids has it on hardcover, softcover, and digital.
