Disposable Underground blog newsletter for your reading pleasure: December 8, 2018

Welcome back to the Disposable Underground newsletter. There’s more content to catch up on than usual, so let’s jump in.

I dug up some old photos of one of my favorite bands, Napalm Death, playing Maryland Deathfest. These are from 2009 and are up on the blog Tumblr page. This is timely because I unearthed content from an old blogspot that had tons of awesome info on the early, way-back days of the band. I’m happy to say that content is tidied up and posted at the blog

Many cities with an active punk rock scene have punk rock flea markets. There’s been an annual one of these at a church in Washington DC for a while. Here’s some pictures from this fall’s flea market at Flickr.

Since there’s so many anti-Trump compilations that have been coming out for the past few years, and since my band contributed to one called Whirlwind Struggle, I posted at the blog with links to other comps that don’t sound anything like that one, in case anyone’s interested.

I’ve been listening to Deceased since the late 1980s and a review of the new albumGhostly White, is only the latest piece I’ve written about the band. It features some comments from the band and the recording engineer.

The Guitarwrist makes “bespoke bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings from artists’ used guitar strings and plectrums, all hand made in the UK.” I’ve contributed used guitar strings to this outfit so I wrote a little something about it. More details are up at the blog.

I recently reviewed a record by a local band called Tired All The Time at the blog. The guitar player in that band has various other things going on, one of them being Timmy Sells His Soul, a live clip of which is the featured video this time. Death metal it ain’t.

I’ll have more info on what’s new next time. Thanks a lot!
