Disposable Newsletter, May 25, 2018

Hello and welcome back to the Disposable Underground newsletter. Here’s what’s happening at the blog this week, plus fun bonus newsletter content.

Two newsletters ago we let you know about a Relapse Record label round-up, and now we have another round-up (or label spotlight) at the blog. We did a Selfmadegod Records round-up after they mailed me a wad of CDs. There was some good stuff in the package, with some good variety.

Now reading: Well, I haven’t actually started reading this “special collector’s edition” magazine yet, and the excuse I’ll use is Maryland Deathfest is coming up and I haven’t gotten to it yet. This mag was an impulse buy from the last time I was browsing the magazine rack at Barnes & Noble. But who doesn’t want the inside scoop on Pink Floyd, I ask you?

Now playing: OK, I’m on a Kiss kick right now. (Last week it was Music From The Elder.) I used to sort of hate on Lick It Up, but now I can appreciate it a lot better. That whole period of Kiss that started with Creatures of the Night and included this record, Animalize, and Asylum is an interesting period in the Kiss discography, before they went glam-lite.

Doom, the punk hardcore band from the UK, has been playing forever and they’ve still got the goods. In this featured video from the Disposable Underground YouTube channel this week, they’re playing a festival in the Netherlands.

We’ll have more info on what’s new next time. Thanks muchly.
