NASA releases audio of winds on Mars

File under: source material. In December, NASA posted audio captured by the Mars InSight lander of Martian winds blowing on it. This should be of interest to noise artists or bands that are looking for a little atmosphere in their recordings (ahem):

This isn’t the first time NASA has made available audio (and images) of its space missions. The agency put up a ton of material in 2004, and added a searchable library in 2017. Very nice of them to do so.

Note: we added the audio to this post in April 2021.
