Jars return with new album “ДЖРС III”

D.U. first heard of Jars when we wrote about the band as part of our Friday Promo Roundups. We realized Jars, a noise rock band from Moscow, was one to watch.

After two full-length albums and two EPs, Jars has a great, noisy sound, sort of Amphetamine Reptile, with jangly guitars. The band covers a lot of ground on this new record, going from unexpected, obnoxious walls of sound and aggression to in-the-pocket grooves and moody riffs. There’s even a part that sounds like it’s coming from the sax of John Zorn.

It’s not for people looking for a smooth, polished sound. Having said that, the band sounds like it quite well knows what it’s doing.

ДЖРС III is out now on P.O.G.O. Records on digital (name your price) and very limited CD, so act fast.
