Bandcamp is waiving its revenue share on sales this Friday

Bandcamp announced on its blog that it’s waiving its revenue share of sales on Friday, March 20, from midnight to midnight PST. As Ethan Diamond wrote, the platform is “rallying the Bandcamp community to put much needed money directly into artists’ pockets” during the Covid-19 pandemic, as “artists have been hit especially hard as tours and shows are being canceled for the foreseeable future.”

At the blog, Bandcamp suggested a few ways music fans can support bands during this time, and tips for artists to increase sales, including pointing bands to the Bandcamp Artist Guide.

Bandcamp has taken charitable action before, like when it supported voting rights and donated to the ACLU.
