There was a hardcore show at Rhizome DC and one of the bands was out-of-towners Mutant Strain. Video of the group playing is below.
The Charlotte, NC band is mostly a fast hardcore act with a lot of rough edges, but one that manages to not sound generic. Once in a while the group lets its musicality come out and gives itself room to step out of the confines of its chosen genre.
The latest album, Murder of Crows, is out now on LP and Bandcamp from Sorry State Records. It’s a rager and the vinyl release is packed with physical material and comes with a download code. It’s recommended!
