Italy-based pop band The Silver Snails put out its second album Speed of Light last year and the record has a lot going for it.
There’s guitar, keyboards, and big hooks and choruses on the record, drawing from different styles such as indie and classic rock. The group calls itself a “glam rock space pop family band” and that makes sense, not only from the songs but from the photos in the album’s sleeve.
The band released a few tracks before putting out the record, a music video for its cover of “Video Killed the Radio Star,” below:
And a single from the album, “Evanessence” on Bandcamp:
This track is one of two recorded in Italy, with the rest recorded in Portland in the U.S. Much of the record is sung in English, but much of it also sounds like it’s got at least one other language on it. That’s good for spicing any record up a bit.
Where to Get it
The band self-released Speed of Light on its Snailform Records and it’s on a few platforms:
Apple Music
Spotify
SoundCloud via The Big Takeover
It’s out on CD as well, but it’s not immediately clear where it’s available besides at Amazon.
