The new Mortuous album “Upon Desolation” is out now

Mortuous is a U.S. death metal band with a new album and a new tour.

The Upon Desolation album has a heavy old Incantation influence but has a bunch of other cool bits thrown in too.

I first recall hearing Mortuous when I caught them opening up for Left To Die (a clip of that performance is below), and now I appreciate sitting down and giving the band a good listen on album. As I’ve mentioned in other posts, the retro death metal wave can get old quick, but Mortuous excels when it adds more tempo and feel changes, like on the track “Nothing.”

In any case, blast the record on Bandcamp and consider grabbing it.

In addition to digital, Upon Desolation is out now on Carbonized Records on CD, LP, and cassette.
