Noise can be a hazard to your health

There’s research going back decades about the ill health effects of noise from sources such as road, rail, and air traffic, construction, workplaces, and even (although we all know that rock ‘n’ roll ain’t noise pollution) unwanted music.

At the end of last month, Rick Neitzel from the University of Michigan talked to The Takeaway from WNYC Studios about the research around noise and the surprising list of ailments that can come from exposure to it. Give the conversation a spin.

All this immediately makes D.U. think of noise artists. Of course, these folks are making sounds that they want to hear, but do their bodies want to hear it too?

What do you think?
