Myanmar political punk band Rebel Riot releases “One Day” music video

Kyaw Kyaw, the founder of the liberty-spiked, denim-and-leather, tattooed-and-pierced punk band Rebel Riot from Myanmar, said “punk is a rebellion against the system” in an interview with Al Jazeera by Ali MC.

The band premiered a new protest-themed music video in February for the song “One Day” (below) on the Metal Worldwide YouTube channel.

Lots of young people, and this includes punks, have taken to the streets in Myanmar after the military seized power and declared a state of emergency, Ali MC wrote.

The band wrote in the “One Day” video description that it had the idea to “use all our strength to transform ourselves and the world around us into one of compassion and peace.”

Keep up with the band and its community and volunteer work on its Facebook page.
