Magrudergrind is one of those bands whose music fans cut the sleeves off their t-shirts, and maybe even chop the legs off their jeans to make shorts. D.U. has a bit of history with Magrudergrind: we posted a couple pics from the band’s 10th anniversary show, and interviewed them in archive zine issue #43. Magrudergrind brought D.U. in to the studio for a guest vocal session one time. So it’s safe to say we’re fans of the band.
The band’s new album is called II, and the bottom line is that it continues with Magrudergrind’s brutal grindcore mixed with ignorant breakdowns (that’s a compliment). It’s a completely solid follow-up to the band’s previous full-lengths.
The record comes out this Friday and pre-orders for CD, LP, and digital download are up at Relapse, but A.V. Club is streaming the whole record. Hear for yourself.
On top of that, Magrudergrind did a video for the new record.
AND the band is hitting the road in Europe. Dates are below. Before that, though, Magrudergrind is doing a record release show at the Acheron in Brooklyn, NY on February 19.
