Carcass cloning never had it so good. General Surgery has been at it for a very long time, and this release covers several years of their split EP and LP, compilation and cover tunes. The CD booklet is a nice companion to the music: liner notes from current and former members show a fun sense of humor, and some lyrics are thrown in. Some of General Surgery’s later records have had strong notices in the press, and this compilation helps demonstrate why this death metal band deserves praise for their studio work. An entertaining, energetic live band to boot.
