Friday promo roundup: April 23, 2021

We get a lot of digital promos at the D.U. email address, too many to give proper justice at the blog. To get through them, here’s a quick roundup. Hopefully some of the below items will strike your fancy.

The 15 items featured this week concern +øc, Adarrak, Amnessia Eterna, Anatomia, Bokassa, Everture, Lacuna Coil, Locked In, Odal, Round Eye, Swarmageddon, Waking the Sleeping Bear, Wormlight, Wrthless, and Zouo. Okay, let’s see what we got.

+øc

is a Madrid band with a new album, Pandemønium, coming out on May 6, 2021. It’s up for preorder on digital and LP from Broken Clover Records. Check out the energetic album track “El que quiera.”

Adarrak

from Singapore has a new video, “Through the Fabric of Time,” premiered at Dead Rhetoric. The cool death metal track is from the Ex Oriente Lux album, coming out on May 27, 2021 on Satanath Records and Blood Blast Distribution on CD and digital, and the record is up for preorder.

Amnessia Eterna

is a Chilean band with a new album, Malditos, coming out July 30, 2021. The thrash band has a video for the track “Falso Predicador” from the album that’s being released by Sony, The Orchard, and Brutal Records. There’s no preorder information yet, but follow the band on Facebook for updates.

Anatomia

is a Japanese death/doom band that’s been around for decades. The new album Corporeal Torment is coming out May 20, 2021 and is up for preorder from Me Saco Un Ojo and on LP and CD from Dark Descent Records. Each label also has the record on digital. Check out the old-school track “Slime of Putrescense.”

Bokassa

is a Norwegian rock band with a new single, “So Long, Idiots!” The band is working on an album to be released this year on Napalm Records.

Everture

from Finland released the Emerge album last month and is playing a livestream gig on April 24, 2021 where they’ll play the whole record. The event page is on Facebook.

Lacuna Coil

might not need much of an introduction, but the Italian metal band has a live album, Live From the Apocalypse, coming out on June 25, 2021 on a few combos of DVD, LP, and CD on Century Media Records. Watch the track “Bad Things.”

Locked In

from Italy has released a track from upcoming metallic hardcore EP The Solemn Leap called “Coward.” There’s no preorder information yet, but Epidemic Records is releasing the EP today. Check it out.

Odal

is a German black metal band whose Welten Mutter album is out today on LP and CD from Eisenwald and also on digital. Check out the album track “Der kalte Nächte Atem,” and you can also spin the whole record over at Decibel Magazine.

Round Eye

from Shanghai has a video for the track “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” from the album Culture Shock Treatment. It’s on Spotify and Apple and so on now and is coming out on vinyl on Sudden Death Records, although there’s no preorder information yet. Read the lyrics at the YouTube link.

Swarmageddon

from France has a new album out, Inhuman, with a new lyric video for the track “Brave New World.” Swarmageddon has a good sense of humor and, while it’s not a joke band, the video is laugh-out-loud funny. The album is available on digital.

Waking the Sleeping Bear

from France has a clever video for the title track from the upcoming album P*rno Future. Lyrics are listed at the YouTube link. There’s no information on a release on the album besides that it’s coming out in the Spring. Keep up with the band on Facebook.

Wormlight

from Sweden has an album coming out on May 7, 2021 called Nightmother. The band has released a track from the album, “Voidspawn.” The album is up for preorder on CD and digital from Black Lion Records.

Wrthless

is a Glasgow pop punk band with a handful of singles out, the latest being “Dislike.” The bandmembers look like they had a ball shooting the video.

Zouo

was a Japanese punk hardcore band from the ‘80s. Relapse Records has collected the band’s material for a reissue called AGONY憎悪REMAINS, containing an original EP and bonus live tracks. The whole thing is streaming on YouTube (we’re pretty sure you need to be holding a beer while listening to it) and is out now on LP and on digital.

That’s all for this week. Check out our previous promo roundups, and have a good weekend.
