BBC releases a trove of sound effects online

Over at MusicRadar, Ben Rogerson is reporting that the BBC has released 16,000 sound effects from its archives for free download under a certain type of licence that BBC helpfully explains. Everything from machine noises to applause to battlefields—plenty of stuff to browse through for your personal project.
