The G-Anx/Filthy Christians split 7″ is a slice of Swedish hardcore history

G-Anx and Filthy Christians were both classic Swedish hardcore bands that were influential to who knows how many hardcore and grindcore bands. The Armageddon label (from the guitarist of Dropdead) has reissued the old G-Anx/Filthy Christians split 7″ which originally came out in 1988. It’s been remastered and released on standard and colored vinyl.

Interestingly, parts on the G-Anx side kind of remind me of Scum by Napalm Death. In any case, it’s totally old school and totally awesome. Give it a listen on Bandcamp.

It’s still also available from the label store at its Providence location and at its Boston location on black vinyl.

I have a confession to make: the reissued record came out in 2022 and came in for review here at the blog at the time and I lost track of it, which is why I’m talking about it now. Again in any case, as was written in the 7″ promo, “Play this record loud and often.”
